Enter the correct credentials click “sign in”
Select the correct organization.
Selct your name or the organization’s name at the top right.
Select Admin
To add a new study in a program already created click the + study button.
If the study should be live, set live to yes (this will usually be “no” right away to provide time for review).
Add a numerical value to represent the order in which the studies should be listed.
Add the name of the study.
Slug for the URL (no caps or spaces here). This is the same name as the study with caps or spaces.
Add a one-sentence description.
You can add a longer description here.
Next lets add a series graphic, this a MUST have. Remember this is basically a graphic that covers what the series is all about. Click anywere in the gray box where it says no image.
Click Upload.
Choose the correct image from your computer files.
Click open.
Adjust the image by draging the 4 squares.
Click update.
Under the study, click the lesson button.
Select yes to if the lesson should be live (this is usually “no” right away o provide time for review).
Add a numerical value to represent the order in which the lessons within the study should be listed.
The first name of the lesson this usually repersents the number of the lesson.
The slug for the URL (no caps or spaces here).
Add a longer description for the lesson.
If the video is listed on YouTube, enter the Embeded URL. (This is worth the time. It makes the lesson stand out and easier for others to access or find your study. (Directions to find the youtube embeded Url can be found in step 16).
Add a Lesson graphic. Follow steps 17-22.
Now that we have the lesson structure set, lets start on the file structure. (Click on files from the Study Level) Note if you have files for the program label, you can also set up files on the progam level.
Setting files on the Study Level gives you access to those files from any Lesson you are working on. (Click the + sign)
Click on the Add Bundle label (Bundle is essentially a file. Any files in a bundle will be downloaded, if one of the files is added in the lesson)
Make a good name for all the materials that will be for all lessons in this study. In this example we use “Series Materials”. Click save.
Click + Resource.
This will auto put the new resource in the bundle you are in but you can change the bundle if you need to.
Next we need a Rescource name this is the name of the file you are adding to the file structure. After entering in the name, be sure to hit save.
Next click the small arrow to ipen the Series Materials folder
Click the add button to add the file to file name you created.
The 3 types of files you have to choose from are as follows.
Used for most applications.
This would be used only if you want a file to use that only plays on the lessons.church app. An example would be, if you uploaded a zip file as a Variant so users can download all the slides you have but you are wanting to use those assets so when someone is using the lessons.church app, they can access those files.
Very useful for uploading all the slides for a Lesson at one time. Remember when you do this, make sure to make a .zip and upload it as a varaint in the same folder. So any user that wants to can download all the slides and use them outside of the lessons.church app. For this application, we will choose the Varaint option because we will be adding a countdown for the lessons.church app but we also want to allow users to easily download this file.
Label the variant what type of file it is mp4,pdf,jpg ect… after that be sure to hit save.
Creating the venues click on Venues.
Click the + button.
Enter the Venu name and click save.
After you make both Large and Small Group venus, click edit on the venue you would like to edit.
Click the + button to add your new section.
Then Select Create New.
Make a section name and add any materials notes you would like to add. Click save.
Add your first role (This is the normally the person presenting). Make a name and click save.
There are 5 different Action Types. It is important to think about how the user is using the content when you set an action.
Select the correct action and then put in the appropiate material.
Finsh and Check to make sure everything is working correctly once you have completeed the lesson. Make sure to go back and mark the Lesson as live and the Study as live then head over to Lessons.Church to make sure everything is working correctly. Test the downloads and go through the text layout.
