Verse of the Day

The Verse of the Day page displays a daily Bible verse as a beautifully formatted image. It is a simple way to start your day with Scripture or find encouragement throughout the week.

Before You Begin

  • No login is required to view the Verse of the Day. The page is publicly accessible.
  • Your church must have added a Verse of the Day page to their site navigation.

Viewing the Verse

  1. Navigate to the Verse of the Day page from your church's site navigation.
  2. The page displays today's verse as an image, with the verse text, its reference, and today's date beside or below it.
  3. A new verse appears automatically each day.

There is nothing you need to do -- just visit the page and the current day's verse will be shown.

Earlier Verses

Below today's verse, a This week section shows recent days' verses:

  • On your church's website, the previous six days appear as a row of picture cards that slowly scrolls on its own (it pauses while you hover over or touch it).
  • In the member portal (/mobile), the previous three days are listed with each verse's reference, date, and text.

Click or tap any day to open it with its picture, full verse, and the same share and download buttons as today's verse.

Click Past verses to see every day's verse from January 1 of this year through yesterday, grouped by month with the newest first. On the website the list opens below the This week row (click Past verses again to hide it); in the member portal it opens on its own screen with a back link. Click any date to open that day's verse.

Responsive Display

The verse image automatically adjusts to fit your screen. Depending on your device and window size, you will see one of three formats:

  • Widescreen (16:9) -- Best for desktop monitors and laptops
  • Square (1:1) -- Suited for tablet-sized screens
  • Portrait (9:16) -- Optimized for phones held vertically

The page detects your screen dimensions and selects the best format, so the verse always looks good regardless of how you are viewing it. If you resize your browser window, the image will update to match the new dimensions. On your church's website, a tall phone screen shows the square picture instead of the portrait one, so the verse is not squeezed into a narrow strip.

Sharing the Verse

Today's verse, and any earlier day you open, has three buttons:

  • Share -- shares the verse text, reference, and a link to the verse picture. If your device has no share menu, the text and link are copied to your clipboard.
  • Share image -- shares the verse picture itself, so you can post it or send it in a message. On devices that cannot share files (such as most desktop browsers), the image is downloaded instead.
  • Download -- saves the verse picture to your device.

On your church's website these always use the widescreen (16:9) picture. In the member portal they use the shape that fits your screen.
