Donation Summary

The Donation Summary report gives you a clear picture of your church's giving activity. Use it to track donation totals, monitor giving trends, and prepare financial reports for your leadership team.

Running the Report

  1. Navigate to Reports from the main menu.
  2. Click the Donation Summary card.
  3. Set the date range to define the reporting period.
  4. Apply additional filters such as fund or other criteria to narrow the results.
  5. The report will display the giving summary for the selected period.

What the Report Shows

The Donation Summary report includes:

  • Total donations -- The overall giving amount for the selected period.
  • Donor count -- The number of unique donors who contributed.
  • Amounts by fund -- A breakdown of giving across different funds, if applicable.

Practical Uses

  • Financial planning -- Review giving trends to forecast future income and plan your budget.
  • Board reports -- Generate summaries for regular board or leadership meetings with clear giving data.
  • Year-end reviews -- Run the report for the full year to prepare annual financial summaries.
  • Campaign tracking -- Filter by fund to track progress on special giving campaigns or building projects.
  • Seasonal analysis -- Compare giving across different periods to understand seasonal patterns.

Donation data comes from recorded contributions in your system. Make sure donations are entered consistently, whether through online giving, check processing, or manual entry, for the most accurate reports.
