Member Directory
The member directory lets you browse and search for people in your church. Whether you need to look up a fellow group member or find someone new, the directory makes it easy to connect with your church family.
Before You Begin
- You must be logged in to your B1.church account.
- Who can open the directory follows your church's Show in Directory setting: Admins Only, Members and Above (the default), Regular Attendees and Above, or Visitors and Above. People below that level see a "Members Only" message instead. Staff with the People > View permission can always open it, and with Admins Only they are the only ones who can -- even people with a Staff membership status can't. People with a Guest or Inactive status never can. See Member Directory & Messaging Settings.
Accessing the Directory
- Tap Community in the tab bar or on the More page (your church may have given it a different name).
- The Directory opens with a count of people and a list of all visible church members.
Searching for Members
Type a name into the Search Members box at the top of the list. The list filters as you type, and the matching part of each name is highlighted. Clear the box to see the full directory again.
Browsing the Directory
Members are grouped under letter headings (A, B, C, and so on) by the first letter of their first name, and sorted by last name within each letter. Each entry shows the member's photo, display name, and membership status, making it easy to scan through the list.
Viewing a Member Profile
Tap any member in the list to open their profile. The profile shows the member's name, photo, and membership status, with buttons to Message them, Call them, or send a Text when that information is available. Below that, the Contact Information section shows the details your church and the member have chosen to share, such as email, phone, and address, and Household Members lists the other people in their household.
You can tap household members within a profile to navigate to their profiles as well. On your own profile, an Edit profile button takes you to Editing Your Profile.
The information visible in each profile depends on your church's privacy and directory settings. Not all fields may be shown for every member.
Members under your church's minimum age for private messages remain visible in the directory, but the option to send them a private message is unavailable.
