Editing Your Profile

Your profile page in the member portal lets you update your contact information, manage your household, change your account email and password, and control who can see your address, phone number, and email address.

Before You Begin

  • You need to be logged in — profile editing requires an account

Opening Your Profile

Tap your profile photo in the top app bar, or choose Edit Profile from the navigation menu, to open your profile at /mobile/profileEdit. The page has four tabs: Profile, Household, Account, and Privacy.

Profile Tab

The Profile tab holds the information your church sees on your person record:

  • Photo — tap Change Photo to upload a new picture.
  • Name — First, Middle, and Last name.
  • Contact — Email and birth date.
  • Address — Street address, city, state, and zip.
  • Phone — Mobile, home, and work numbers.

Edit any field and save your changes from the bar at the bottom of the screen.

If your church requires approval for directory changes, your edits are submitted as a request instead of applying immediately. See Approving Profile Changes for how your church reviews these.

Household Tab

The Household tab shows the other people linked to your household, each with their household role (Head, Spouse, Child, and so on). Tap a household member to view their details.

To add a family member who isn't in the system yet, enter their first name under Add Family Member and tap Add. New family members are added to a pending list and are submitted along with your other profile changes for your church to review.

Account Tab

The Account tab manages your login rather than your church profile:

  • Display Name — the first and last name shown on your login (separate from the Name fields on the Profile tab).
  • Change Email — update the email address you use to sign in.
  • Change Password — enter your current password, then your new password twice. Your new password must meet the site's minimum length.

Privacy Tab

The Privacy tab controls who can see your contact information across ChurchApps:

  • Hide Me from the Member Directory — a switch that removes you from the member directory entirely.
  • Address Visibility, Phone Visibility, and Email Visibility — each has its own dropdown, so you can share your email with the whole church while keeping your address more private, for example. The options are:
LevelWho can see it
EveryoneVisible to anyone who can view the directory.
Members OnlyVisible to other signed-in church members.
My Groups OnlyVisible only to members of groups you belong to.
My Group Leaders and StaffVisible only to church staff and the leaders of groups you belong to.
Staff OnlyVisible only to church staff.

Changing a dropdown reveals a Save button for that section. Your church sets a default for each of these three fields — see Mobile App Settings — but whatever you choose here overrides that default for your own record.

You always see your own information regardless of these settings, and staff with People view permission can always see it too.
