Service Order

The service order defines the sequence of elements in your worship service. Use it to lay out everything from the opening song to the closing prayer, so your entire team knows the flow of the service ahead of time.

Before You Begin

  • Create a service plan for the date you want to build a service order for
  • Optionally, add songs to your library so you can link them directly into the service order

Accessing the Service Order

  1. Navigate to Serving and select your ministry.
  2. Click on a plan type, then open a specific plan.
  3. Click the Service Order tab on the plan detail page.

Building Your Service Order

The service order is a list of items arranged in the sequence they will occur during the service. Common elements include:

  • Worship songs
  • Prayers
  • Scripture readings
  • Announcements
  • Sermon or message
  • Offering
  • Closing

Adding Items to the Service Order

  1. On the Service Order tab, click Add Item.
  2. Choose the type of element you want to add (for example, a song from your library, a custom item, a heading, or an External Item).
  3. Enter the details for the item, such as the title and any notes.
  4. Click Save.

You can add songs directly from your Songs library. This links the song details, including lyrics and arrangements, to your service plan so your worship team has everything they need.

Importing Multiple Items from an External Provider

Choosing External Item opens a browser for your linked lesson providers instead of a single-item form. Browse (or search) into a provider's content, and check the box next to each section or action you want. The dialog tracks how many you have selected (for example, "3 selected") -- click Import (3) to add all of them to the service order at once, instead of repeating the add-item flow for each one.

This is the fastest way to pull a whole lesson's worth of sections and cues into a service order in one pass, rather than adding each item individually.

Reordering Items

Drag items by the handle on the left of each row to rearrange the order — drop onto the blue line where you want the item to land, or onto a section header to move it into that section. The sequence shown on screen is the order your team will follow during the service.

Grouping Actions Under a Section

Lesson and curriculum sections can hold their own step-by-step actions (for example, the individual cues inside a "Large Group" section). Click Expand to Actions on a section to break it out into its action items -- the section stays in place as a collapsible folder, with its actions nested underneath it.

  • Click the section's folder toggle to expand or collapse its actions without leaving the service order.
  • Collapse to Section reverses this for plans built before folders existed, turning a flat run of actions back into a single section item. New expansions always create a folder, so you generally only need this on older plans.

Volunteers assigned to an item show up next to it in the service order, so anyone reviewing the plan can see who's covering each part at a glance.

Timing and Media

Each item and section shows how long it runs and when it starts:

  • If the plan has a single service time selected, the left rail shows the actual clock time each item starts (for example, 9:14 AM). Otherwise it shows elapsed time from the start of the service.
  • Section headers total up the running time of everything inside them.
  • Songs and custom items count toward this schedule once you enter Minutes/Seconds on the item's edit screen.
  • Items you add from your media library (images or video clips) show a thumbnail and are timed automatically — a video's duration is measured from the file itself, while an image contributes a ~5:00 planning estimate (shown in italics) since it stays on screen until an operator advances it. You can still edit either one to a specific duration.

Editing and Removing Items

  • Click on any item in the service order to edit its details.
  • Use the delete option to remove an item from the order.

The service order is specific to each plan. Changes you make here only affect the selected plan and will not alter other plans or your song library.

Bulk Selecting and Deleting Items

To clear out several items in a section at once instead of deleting them one by one:

  1. Click Select items on the section header.
  2. Check the items you want to remove, or check Select all in section to grab everything directly under that section.
  3. Click Delete Selected and confirm.
  4. Click Done selecting to exit selection mode.
thông tin

Bulk select only applies to a section's direct children, not items nested inside a sub-section folder.

Including Items in Specific Service Times

If your plan has more than one service time (for example, an 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. service), you can choose which services each item should appear in. This is useful when an announcement is only relevant to one service, or when a song is sung in one service but not another.

  1. Open a plan that has two or more service times defined on the Times tab.
  2. On the Service Order tab, click an item to edit it.
  3. Under Include in Services, you will see a checkbox for each service time, labeled with the time.
  4. Uncheck any service where the item should be skipped.
  5. Click Save.

By default, every item is included in every service. Excluded service times are hidden when you print the plan filtered to that service, so each service receives a clean run sheet with only the relevant items.

The Include in Services section only appears when the plan has more than one service time. If you only see one service, edit the plan's Times tab to add additional services first.

Sharing the Service Order

Once your service order is complete, you can print the full plan (including the service order) from the plan detail page. This gives your team a complete rundown of the service. When Show Volunteer Names is on for the print, each section header also prints with the assigned volunteer's position next to it, so your team can see who's covering that section without opening the app.

Next Steps

  • Manage your worship repertoire on the Songs page
  • Assign volunteers to the service on the Plans Assignments tab
  • Create Tasks for any follow-up items related to the service
