Serving

The Serving section is your hub for coordinating volunteers and planning church services. Whether you are organizing Sunday worship, midweek gatherings, or special events, this is where you bring everything together so your teams know exactly who is serving and when.

How the Serving Page Works

When you open the Serving page, you will see your ministries displayed as tabs across the top. Each ministry has its own plan types and teams, so you can manage multiple ministries independently. For example, you might have separate tabs for Worship, Kids Ministry, and Hospitality.

Non-admin staff who are members of a ministry can also access the Serving page. They will see only the ministries they belong to and can create and edit plans, assignments, plan types, and the service order for their ministry without needing full admin permissions.

If you are an admin, the tabs show the ministries you belong to (Mine). Choose All to see every ministry. This is helpful when you need to check assignments across multiple teams. If your church has many ministries, a Find a ministry box appears so you can filter the tabs by name.

Sub-Sections

The Serving section includes these key areas:

  • Plans -- Create service plans for specific dates and assign volunteers to teams. Plans help you organize who is serving when, so everyone knows their role ahead of time. Set up automatic volunteer reminders by push, email, or text so your team is notified before each service, and use the Plans Overview to see all upcoming assignments across multiple weeks in one grid.
  • Songs -- Manage your worship song library with lyrics, arrangements, and external links. Your worship team can use this to prepare for upcoming services.
  • Tasks -- Assign and track tasks for your team members from My Work.
  • Workflows -- Move people through a series of steps on a visual Kanban board, such as new-visitor follow-up or a membership process. Steps can run automated actions (send an email, wait a few days, add to a group), and cards advance by outcome buttons, conditional routing, or event and schedule triggers -- with built-in reports.
